Cope Body Care
Relief Through Manual Therapy
Welcome! Taber and Rebecca specialize in Osteopathic Manual Therapy (OMT). This manual therapy treats from a neurological perspective, specifically the autonomic nervous system. We work to find the root cause of your pain and symptoms by treating the inputs into your autonomic nervous system thus changing its outputs, where your pain and symptoms are. By addressing the root cause, we find great success in treating all types of acute and chronic conditions.
-
Our holistic osteopathic approach means we know your entire body is interconnected and many times where the pain and symptoms are at, is not what is causing the pain. The dysfunction lies elsewhere. Our advanced training allows us to assess the whole body and find the root cause of pain/symptoms. The Osteopathic approach is seeing your body as a whole and understanding that everything is interconnected. The nervous system is central to this interconnectedness and is in charge of all aspects of your body. Your autonomic nervous system (ANS) controls the majority of your body: heart and circulatory system (blood pressure, heart rate), lungs (breathing), digestion (intestines, colon, liver, pancreas), immune system (lymphatic system), skin, urinary tract, glands in your head (eyes, mouth, nose), reproductive system, posture, and many reflexes. The autonomic nervous system (ANS) operates by receiving sensory inputs in, and based on those inputs it makes a decision and sends an output signal. Many symptoms and pains are a result of the “output” from the ANS and cannot be fully resolved by treating them (or the symptoms come back). This is because the underlying root cause was not addressed, the input(s) coming into the ANS. Our advanced training allows us to assess and treat the root cause of your pain and symptoms by finding the dysfunctional part of your body that is sending the input. By changing the inputs going in the ANS, it will send different outputs bringing true lasting relief from pain and symptoms.

Our bodies are full of all types of fluid (blood, digestive fluids, synovial fluid in joints, linings, mucuses, cerebrospinal fluid around the brain and spinal cord, lymph, etc.). The appropriate movement and exchange of these fluids is necessary for our bodies to function properly (we are in big trouble if our blood stops moving). A lack or poor fluid movement is indicative of poor health. One of the best ways for our bodies to move fluid around is to move! Muscle contraction, joint movement all drive body fluids aiding in the proper bodily functions. Proper nerve function relies heavily on fluid movement for accurate communication and health! The cells in our body communicate through movement. No movement, no communication. Manual therapy helps move your body fluids and helps your body move better which also moves fluids better. Better fluid movement means better nerve function and better health!
In short, we are body plumbers :-)

For Perrin Technique appointments:
First session we will review health history and will introduce The Perrin Technique. Repeat sessions we will do the treatment and check in on progress. We will go over in detail what that entails and how the treatment is done on your first appointment.
All treatment is done with client consent and if you feel uncomfortable or not respected in any way we will stop or adjust so you are comfortable. There are more details on this in our Office Policies you can review.

Everyone’s body responds differently to treatment. Most people feel sore the next day. We recommend not scheduling any other treatments from anyone for at least 24 hours after treatment. Drink plenty of water!
To help with the sore or achiness we recommend adding heat to that area. Any type of heat is good, hot shower or bath, heating pad, hot tub, etc.
